The success equation looks like this:

x1+y +a =X, 

where  x1 = content knowledge

y = test taking strategies

a = mindset (anxiety management)

And, correspondingly, X = test success

Each of the variables is necessary in order to ensure success (X). The reason why smart, talented, intelligent students fail the exam is NOT because they don’t know the information, it’s because they are focused on ONE of the variables in the equation (x1). But this is only PART of the equation. Content knowledge will get you close (if you can remember it all), but it won’t likely lead to success.
